PT Apparel One Indonesia (AOI) has successfully won an award in the Indonesia Green and Sustainable Company Award (IGSCA) 2024 for the category of Best Innovation in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Implementation for Manufacturing Companies. This award is given as a form of recognition and appreciation for AOI’s success in implementing programs related to Sustainable Environment and Sustainable People, which have been an important part of AOI’s journey as outlined in the AOI Sustainability Commitment and the Company’s Vision & Mission.
During the selection process, the jury gave assessments and appreciation, especially for AOI’s success in implementing several Sustainability Initiatives, including:
• The use of fabric materials and chemicals certified by the Recycled Content Standard (RCS), Organic Content Standard (OCS), and ZDHC MRSL Level 3,
• Reduction of carbon emissions through the installation of a 770 kWP Solar Panel, the use of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC), and high-tech and efficient machines in the production process,
• Environmentally friendly management of production and domestic waste through the Waste-to-cement and Waste Decomposing programs using BSF maggots,
• Utilization of domestic wastewater through Greywater treatment and Rainwater Harvesting for toilet flushing and cooling water,
• Vocational Training and Recruitment programs based on collaboration with educational institutions through Binabusana SIGAP (Apparel One Garment Industry School), which has helped provide thousands of jobs in Central Java, even offering job opportunities for disabled/hearing-impaired employees.
This award was presented directly by Mr. Kemal E. Gani, Chief Editor of SWA Media Inc, on September 25, 2024, at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta to AOI management representatives, Mr. Bazi Zebua (HRM Division Head) and Rahardrian Prananditya (HSE-Sustainability Department Head).
Hopefully, this success can continue to be enhanced so that AOI becomes a leading company in Sustainability/ESG, thereby providing more positive impacts on the environment and society in Indonesia.
